Academic Advising

SBPA Faculty Advisors

What is Advising?

Academic advising is guidance that helps students maximize their educational experiences. It is a cooperative relationship in which advisors guide students and empower them to achieve their goals.

Students should contact their advisors on any matter related to their educational progress. Although faculty members serve as guides through the educational process, the ultimate responsibility for academic choices lies with students. Advisors are responsible for helping students make appropriate choices. Students are responsible for cooperating with their advisors by sharing essential information about their strengths, weaknesses, interests, and goals.
