Embarking on the study chemistry is an exciting journey that brings you many miles closer to understanding and impacting the world around you. Chemistry is often referred to as the central science because it is vital to the advancement of other fields of study. Here at UDC, our American Chemical Society (ACS) certified degree program prepares students for immediate transition to the workforce and/or seamless entry into graduate and professional schools. Our dynamic team of faculty is engaged in innovative, multidisciplinary research and state-of-the-art teaching/learning.  Our student learning experience is grounded in the practice of science, and our students are involved in the cutting-edge research experiences required for their long-term success.

American Chemical Society (ACS) Certified

The UDC Chemistry program offers an approved curriculum by the American Chemical Society (ACS), Committee on Professional Training.  This curriculum develops competitive graduates who are well-prepared for the next levels of education and transition to the workforce.

  • Experience cutting-edge multidisciplinary undergraduate research: Students will have unique opportunities to engage in original scientific research with guidance from faculty mentors in a research laboratory equipped with modern state-of-the-art instrumentation.
  • Enhance transferable skills with a wide range of chemistry topics for future careers: Advanced coursework encompassing elective courses, hands-on research, and networking opportunities will allow undergraduates to explore real-life examples of chemical sciences and prepare them for in-demand careers.
