How to Apply

Welcome to the first step towards admission to the University of the District of Columbia. We're so happy you're here! Before getting started, review the list of instructions below:

Select

  • Browse our application types below and select the one that best fits your status as an applicant: (first-time, transfer, international, etc.).

Submit

  • After you have selected your application type, you will find a link to a list of the required documents for your type.
  • To ensure you qualify for admission to UDC and avoid delaying your acceptance, please submit a COMPLETE package of all required documents for your given application type.
  • When sending your credentials or other documents to the Office of Undergraduate Admission, make sure to include the name of the form and your identification number (if received) on all mailing envelopes. All credentials and payments must be sent to the following address:

Office of Undergraduate Admission
University of the District of Columbia
4200 Connecticut Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20008

Note: If you are a graduate degree applicant, you may also email any signed letters of recommendation and personal essays directly to the Office of Graduate Admission at tharrison@udc.edu.

As a first-time, international, or transfer student, you will apply for admission through the Common App. After applying through the Common App, you will submit your official transcript(s) from your high school or previously attended college or university. Letters of recommendation and essays are not required. All other types will apply through our UDC application.

To be accepted into your chosen program, you must have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher. But don't worry! If your GPA is lower than 2.5, you can still be accepted into our community college.

What to Expect

After applying, no one enjoys waiting for a response. To ensure that you and your peers can stay informed and within a timely manner, your admission counselor will assist you throughout your admission journey.

Note: If you are a resident of the United States– including foreign citizens with immigrant (resident) visas, foreign citizens with G-4 visas and undocumented immigrants– you are NOT considered an international student and should apply as a regular freshman or transfer student.
