Housing

Welcome to the Office of Residence Life and Off-Campus Housing Services

Housing at the University of the District of Columbia offers a distinctive living experience. While UDC does not have traditional on-campus housing, we provide housing options at two apartment communities: AVA Van Ness and 3003 Van Ness. Each apartment can accommodate between two and four people and is furnished with a bed, dresser, desk and chair per resident. Additionally, every unit includes a common living area, kitchen and full bathroom.

Off-Campus Housing Services

These services were carefully designed to support you in making well-informed decisions when acquiring housing in the area and to better connect with your community and its resources. Our Office of Residence Life and Off-Campus Housing Services hope to accomplish the following:

  • Provide personalized "high touch" assistance, information and resources about urban living and housing
  • Promote student independence and community interdependence
  • Serve as liaisons between students, faculty, staff and community agencies
  • Maintain an apartment database with real-time rental information
  • Organize activities and encourage off-campus students to get involved in leadership opportunities on campus and in their communities
  • Strengthen community relations by educating students on being "good neighbors"
  • Foster community engagement by encouraging participation in residential activities
  • Inform students of university policies and local ordinances

To ensure that you and every student at UDC receive the help you need with housing, we are happy to offer off-campus housing services. It is our goal to help you and your peers acclimate to our campus, the larger Van Ness community and the D.C. metropolitan area.
