If you transfer with an Applied Associates Degree, you are required to satisfy all of the General Education courses required for your major. Your prior courses will be applied where appropriate; review Degree Works to see how your prior work has been applied. If you feel like you have not received credit for equivalent coursework, contact your advisor and a General Education staff member.
Students with an Associate of Science or Associate of Arts degree are exempt from most General Education requirements. See Degree Works for the required course.

Typically, if you transfer with an Associate Degree, the General Education requirements you've already completed may fulfill a significant portion of the requirements. However, additional General Education courses may still be needed to meet the specific program of study.
No, General Education courses can vary depending on your major and the specific requirements of the program. While there are usually core courses that all students must take, specific courses may be tailored to align with the disciplinary focus of your major (Math and Science classes usually vary depending on the major). For example, A student pursuing a Bachelor's in Art will not take the same type of math class as an Engineering student.
The General Education capstone course is interdisciplinary and team-based. Employers value interdisciplinary and team-based, experiential learning experiences.

Students may test out of IGED 110 (Foundation Writing 1) and IGED 111 (Foundation Writing 2) if they have never taken these courses.

You cannot self register for IGED 391/392 Frontier Capstone. Students have to be registered and put into the class by the Assistant Dean & Director of General Education.
Prerequisite errors happen when you haven't finished the required class before taking that specific course.
