International Student Admissions

At the University of the District of Columbia, we strive to provide a supportive and welcoming learning environment for international students from around the world. With such a diverse student population, we like to think of UDC as an "international HBCU."

With backgrounds ranging from conventional to that of embassies and royalty, there is a place for all international students at UDC. During your time here, we will provide plenty of opportunities for you and your peers to coordinate and mingle with our student life {link} and student activities organizations to make campus events welcoming for students of all cultures!

UDC International Students

Are You an International Student?

To ensure that you qualify for international admission to UDC, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree from UDC.
  • Intend to study full-time (at least 12 credit hours per term/semester) the entire time you attend UDC.
  • Identify as a foreign national holding or intending to hold a non-immigrant visa/status in the U.S. (F-1, H-4, L-2, G-4, etc.), NOT a "pending" permanent resident in the U.S.

Note: If you identify as a resident of the United States (including foreign citizens with immigrant/resident visas, foreign citizens with G-4 visas, and undocumented immigrants), you are not considered an international student, and must apply as a regular freshman or transfer student. If you do not qualify for international student status, please refer to the guidelines for first-time college students, transfer students, re-admit students, or graduate students.
