Early Childhood Education - MA

Program Overview

Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education

Further your education and advance your professional journey with a Master of Arts (M.A.) in early childhood education from the University of the District of Columbia! Our graduate education programs embody UDC's long-standing commitment to preparing future educators to provide an exceptional education to the residents in our community. The early childhood education program provides a strong focus on practical classroom training and is closely aligned with the trends and curricula of local school systems to ensure that you are prepared for your next step!

At UDC, we don't just want to expand your education, we want to ensure that you are equipped with the tools needed to be the educator your community deserves. Through the Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education program, you will receive a robust learning and skill-building experience consisting of instruction in teaching, assessment and classroom management.

Over the course of 35 credit hours, you will complete in-depth coursework offered conveniently in the evening to better accommodate your working schedule. However, field experiences, which take place in Pre-K through 3rd school settings, will require some daytime availability. To complete the program, your final semester will require a full-time apprenticeship.
