Early Childhood Education - BA

Program Overview

Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education

Early childhood education is vital for young learners, setting them on a path to success. You can be the person to provide that life-changing education to young students, supporting and nurturing their development. Earn your Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) and begin a rewarding career providing the children in your community the education they deserve!

The early childhood education program at UDC is strategically designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed for the comprehensive care and education of children in preschool through third grade, in addition to fostering professional interactions with their families.

The program emphasizes the responsiveness to the developmental and cultural uniqueness of each child. Throughout this program, you will design, implement and evaluate teaching and learning practices tailored to diverse communities.

In addition to coursework, you will be required to complete a student teaching experience, providing crucial opportunities in real-world educational environments. These academic opportunities are sure to provide just what you need as you pursue your postgraduate goals and take your first steps into the workforce as the highly skilled early childhood educator you've always dreamed you could be.
