Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning

WDLL

Welcome to the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Division!

With primary access available to all adult residents of the District of Columbia, our workforce development program serves as an entity for both the university and the city as a whole.

In the UDC-WDLL, it is our goal to reduce unemployment and underemployment by helping residents throughout our community enhance their professional skills. In doing so, the program will provide the training needed to earn jobs, get promoted and train for careers in new industries.

While we do offer a strategic, thoughtful approach to our programs, we also provide general training in an effort to improve your modern skills in today's workplace. With these skills, you can then establish a firm foundation for success in the training programs provided.

Within the division, we offer six regional in-demand career pathways—that have been identified as being the most in-demand in the region. These include:

  1. Construction and Property Management
  2. Early Childhood Education (CDA)
  3. Healthcare, Direct Care and Administration
  4. Hospitality and Tourism
  5. Information Technology
  6. Lifelong Learning
