Future Firebirds from Genesys Works tour the campus
Top scholars and interns from Genesys Works had a UDC Van Ness campus tour on July 25, meeting with Dr. William Latham, chief student development and success officer, Nailah Williams, interim associate vice president for Enrollment Services and Latosha Baldwin, acting assistant vice president of Student Success. With plans to major in computer science or computer engineering, Axel Orellana, Gabriel Panamenu and Jaheim Smith look forward to attending UDC.
The rising Firebirds, who are also DC UP Scholars, were accompanied by the Executive Director of the National Capital Region at Genesys Works Selvon Waldron—a UDC alum (’08, BBA, ’11, MBA). “The day was very special,” he said. “My UDC education transformed me into the nonprofit leader and social activist I am today. I am humbled to support our students as they begin their journey at my alma mater.”
