NASA OPPORTUNITIES AWARENESS WORKSHOP: SUMMER 2020
NASA Opportunities Awareness Workshop provides interactive sessions on NASA research, education, and career opportunities. It includes invited presentations and panel discussions by invited speakers from NASA and Space Industry. The workshops will also include project-based hands-on activities focused on Advanced Manufacturing (3D printing, Nano-manufacturing) & Space Technologies to increase the STEM awareness and readiness of next-gen workforce.
NASA Opportunities Awareness Summer Workshop

The workshop was conducted for high school and community college students with the focus to increase the awareness of NASA related opportunities, STEM Career Pathways, and opportunities at MIRO Center: CAM-STAR. Three guest speakers from space industry and NASA gave the presentations to the participants and inspired them to pursue various career paths that can lead to NASA. It was then followed by the interactive sessions by the CAM-STAR scholars and NASA interns on topics of: Introduction to NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge, Introduction to 3D Printing, Artemis Program, NASA Internship, Career path and UDC admissions.
UDC Young Men Leadership Initiative NASA Opportunities Awareness Workshop

NASA funded-Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Space Technology and Applied Research (CAM-STAR) at UDC partners with University of the District of Columbia (UDC) Young men of color initiative and the Verizon Foundation to offer a virtual program that provides Leadership Development and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) workshops to local young men of color in middle school.
