Tiffany C. Gurley-Nettles, Dr. Natalie A. Ottey, and Dr. Carmen Ana Ramos-Pizarro are dedicated to advancing teaching and learning through innovative methods and technology integration, not only within their courses but throughout the Speech-Language Pathology curriculum. As Dr. Gurley-Nettles emphasizes, “Through immersive technology, we aim to expand the horizons of education and empower our students to think innovatively, not just as learners but as practitioners, fostering a mindset of innovation.“ Dr. Ramos-Pizarro adds, “By integrating immersive technologies and VR, we aim to create a dynamic learning environment that equips our students with not only theoretical knowledge but also essential soft skills for their future clinical practices, fostering a new dimension in education.“ Dr. Ottey highlights, “By introducing 3D Organon and shifting towards an interactive learning approach, we’ve witnessed a remarkable transformation in student engagement, performance, and understanding. This experience underscores the immense potential of innovative tools in enhancing traditional curricula.”
