Mission

The Center for the Advancement of Learning (CAL) offers a comprehensive range of services, programs, and professional development activities designed to enhance teaching and learning across all modalities for UDC constituents. It serves as a catalyst for digital transformation by driving innovation and fostering the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).

Vision

To advance UDC’s culture of teaching and learning through innovation and become a model for urban institutions.

Goals

  • Implement collaborative initiatives that drive innovation, integrate learning technologies, and embrace diverse approaches to learning, fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.

  • Partner with various university departments to facilitate digital transformation and advocate for inclusive, learner-centered practices across the University’s academic landscape.

  • Expand UDC’s Distance Learning offerings by managing and enhancing quality assurance processes to ensure the highest standards of learning experiences.

  • Develop and deliver workshops, hands-on training, and personalized support for faculty, staff, and students through multiple modes of instruction.
